Modern Desire I explores a tension many relationships face in the modern age: the conflict between freedom, visibility, and protection. It reflects the male desire to protect the woman he loves from the gaze and intentions of other men, while also wanting to honor her independence and right to express herself freely. The figure, posed for an unseen audience, becomes a symbol of how public attention can complicate private intimacy. For me, the work speaks to the struggle of finding balance between trust and insecurity, love and possessiveness, autonomy and devotion in this generation.
