‘Gisela’ is a tribute to my younger sister, born in the Year of the Dragon, whose spirit I represent through this zodiac symbol. Born in 2012, when I was fifteen, she changed my world and opened my heart in ways I never expected. In this painting, the dragon rises above rough waves, symbolizing resilience, strength, and the ability to move through hardship with grace. Though she is still gentle and young, a baby dragon with her full power yet to unfold, there is a hidden fierceness within her waiting to blossom. During one of the most painful periods of my life, she brought only love and light, reminding me to keep striving forward.
