Description

This painting presents a classic interpretation of the evil eye, rendered in layered tones of midnight blue. Floating forms emerge from the dark surface, creating a quiet sense of protection, mystery, and spiritual presence. The work is deeply personal, inspired by somebody I once loved, who first introduced me to the symbol and shared its meaning with me during an important time in my life. Created in the stillness of night, the painting became a therapeutic act of reflection.

The Evil Eye explores the tension between visibility and protection. I painted it in the stillness of the night, thinking about how we place ourselves in view and seek attention, while also feeling vulnerable to judgement. Floating alone in that quiet space, the eye became a protective presence watching over me.
